Could Your Lawn Be Lethal?
Every man dreams of weedless, bug-free, manicured grass surrounding his suburban castle. A multibillion-dollar industry caters to this dream, offering a calibrated poisoning that keeps his world lush yet silently threatens his family, his pets, and him.
The Chemical Problem
Ordinary lawn care chemicals have the potential to cause all kinds of health issues. Your lawn is supposed to contribute positively to your overall health. It should be a place that you and your family can run around, get some exercise, and enjoy the fresh air. Why cover your yard with potentially dangerous chemicals if you can have a nice lawn without them?
Our Organic Promise
So, what exactly is organic soil?
Is not all soil “organic” since it is soil? Not necessarily. One way that may be easier to think about it is to substitute the word “organic” for the word “living.” Organic soil is a soil that is created by the decomposition of plant and animal materials to create a nutrient and mineral rich mini ecosystem with
microorganisms that feed and breathe life back into the soil. Or, to put it another way, organic soil is how soil exists in nature. Think of the forest floor. Leaves and trees fall, fruits and vegetables grow and are eaten, animals feed and leave waste. All this activity directly impacts the soil and creates a
power-packed foundation for future growth. It creates a soil that is “living.”
Organic soils can help your plants and lawns resist pests and disease, avoiding the need to use chemicals and pesticides. Because organic soil is composed of nutrient and mineral rich elements, your plants, and lawn will grow stronger cell wells, giving them added layers of protection from pests and disease. This eliminates the need to buy chemicals from the Hardware store or from your local landscaper.

Even pets are at risk — studies show that the rates of lymphoma in pets of pesticide users are significantly higher than occurrences in the pets of non-chemical users.
The Solution - Our Organic Foundation Lawn Care Program consists of 7 treatments, completed in 6 visits over the course of the season. This program provides the essential nutrients that your lawn needs,
in addition to Natural Pest, Disease, and Weed Suppression. Rather than pesticides, we use organic and feed quality ingredients, such as, vegetable proteins, plant extracts, micronutrients, and plant oils to feed your lawn and help it resist insects and weeds.
We discourage pest damage with natural, safer products like Neem Oil, to keep grubs at bay and prevent them from stealing nutrients from your grass. We manage weeds with our nutrition plan, by supplying your soil with beneficial bacteria, fungi and micronutrients that give your grass an advantage over weeds. This results in far fewer weeds, as compared to not treating your lawn at all. We also work to discourage lawn diseases by planting tougher grass varieties.
There is a new emphasis on using pesticides that are made from natural ingredients. We believe that anything that is designed to kill something, has potential to do damage to non-target organisms, like people for instance. Our goal is to grow healthy grass and plants that do not require pesticides, natural or chemical. If problems do occur, you want to eliminate the cause of the problem, not just mask it by using a pesticide. Obviously, if it is determined that a pesticide is the only option, it makes sense to go with the most natural and least toxic option. We use things like Clove Oil to kill grass and weeds, Garlic to discourage insects and Neem Oil to deter lawn grubs.
